Policies

Because we want your vacation, weekend getaway, working holiday, or romantic getaway in Charleston, South Carolina to be relaxing and memorable, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our policies and explore the amenities we offer.

There is a two-night minimum on weekends, holidays, & special events. Either a Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday combination. We will, on occasion, have a single Friday or Saturday available - please call us to check availability before you travel to Charleston.

We will accept a group rental of up to three rooms (1/3 of the inn) maximum. We will not accept groups for over three rooms.

Children over the age of seven are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult.

Because of the historic nature of our B&B, we are not wheelchair accessible.

We reserve the right, on occasion, to change a guest room (within price range) in order to open up a block of rooms.

Due to the historic nature of our building and for the safety and comfort of our guests, we do not allow fires in the fireplaces, smoking, or candle burning in the B&B.

Smoking is permitted outside on piazzas only. If we decide there has been smoking in a guest room, there will be a $200.00 cleaning fee assessed and immediate termination of reservation.

 

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets of any kind. Guests not adhering to this policy will be assessed a $200.00 cleaning fee with immediate termination of reservation.

We will gladly ship any items left by guests when return is requested. There will be a minimal fee for postage and packaging. After thirty days, items left behind will be donated to charitable organizations.

Deposits

At the time of reservation, a deposit is required to secure your accommodation.

Reservations made 14 days or more in advance will require a deposit by check. The deposit amount is based upon the number of nights and room rate.

For reservations made less than 14 days in advance or a guest arriving from another country, we will accept a credit card guarantee.

We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. We will also gladly accept cash, personal/traveler's check, or debit card.

We offer a discount of $5.00 off each night paid with a personal check or cash unless the room has already been discounted. No discount for debit/credit cards.

Cancellations

Making a reservation at a B&B is quite different from making one at a larger hotel chain. Due to our limited number of rooms, cancellations affect us significantly. When you reserve a room with us, you agree to accept financial responsibility for all dates reserved and room charges. We agree to provide lodging and all related services. Thereafter, we decline any other requests for your room - unlike hotels, we do not overbook.

In the unlikely event that you must cancel your reservation, shorten your stay, or check out early, we will make every effort to re-book the room.

Should a reservation need to be cancelled:

  • cancellations must be made 7 days prior to your arrival date for a full refund.
  • cancellations made less than 7 days prior to your arrival date will result in a forfeit of deposit should room not be re-rented.
  • cancellations with a credit card made 7 days prior to arrival will not be charged.
  • cancellations with credit card made less than 7 days prior to arrival will be charged for all nights reserved unless re-rented.
  • should a room be re-rented at a reduced rate, the deposit refund will reflect the difference.
  • "no-shows" will be charged for all nights reserved.
  • group rental (up to 3 rooms maximum) cancellation policy is increased to 14 days prior to arrival date.
